Realise which game you’re playing - finite vs infinite
📒 Summary + Notes
Leader should create an environment for the right people. The person needs to be able to be himself.
They should have empathy. Understand and relate to the situation of a person and help them.
Similarly we should be able to call for help - a friend, colleague or professional, not try to escape the problem via drugs (alcohol, nicotine, social media).
We need to develop the right coping mechanism = I mess up, I open up to someone and I will seek help.
Negative motivation = using fear is terrible for a human being. In addition, it significantly limits performance.
Change you perspective according to the game you’re playing
Finite game
Known players.
Rules are hardly and clearly defined.
The objective is to win.
Infinite game
Known and unknown players.
Flexible rules.
The objective is to keep playing as long as possible.
As a infinite game player you need to organise your resources in the way it outlasts and frustrates the competition (This can be often achieved by a long-term vision and with a combination of focusing on the product - iPod touch vs Zune which was significantly better but late to the party)
