Our Iceberg is Melting!
John Kotter
"Our Iceberg is Melting" is a story about a group of penguins living on an iceberg in Antarctica, where this colony of penguins is faced with a crisis: their iceberg, the only home they've ever known, is meltiiiiing!!!
One day, a smart and observant penguin named Fred notices that their iceberg is melting, oh boyy! He realizes that if they don’t do something soon, their home will disappear. So, Fred teams up with some other penguins: Alice, the leader who’s good at getting everyone’s attention; Nono, who’s always saying, “No, no, no, everything is fine!”; and Buddy, the cheerful one who always sees the bright side. Together, they try to convince the rest of the penguins that they need to make a plan and act fast before their ice house turns into a big puddle! They try to convince the colony that change is necessary in this case and that sticking with the status quo isn't going to fly, well swim in this case!
The story teaches us how to handle change when life throws us a curveball – like a melting iceberg! The penguins show us that the first step is to admit there’s a problem, then find the right people to help you come up with ideas, make a plan, and take action. They also show that it’s important to talk to others about what’s happening, stay positive, and celebrate every little success along the way.
After reading this book, you’ll understand that change is a part of life, and it’s best to be ready for it. The penguins teach us to look around, think creatively, and not be afraid to speak up, even if some others don’t agree at first. You’ll learn that the key to dealing with big changes is to stay calm, be flexible, and work as a team. So, whether your “iceberg” is a real problem or just a tricky situation, you’ll know that with a good plan and a little penguin spirit, you can handle it!
