Začnete s PROČ   Simon Sinek

1. Start with Why

  • Successful individuals and organizations start with their purpose (why) rather than their product (what).
  • Mindset: Always ask yourself, "Why am I doing this?" Define your core belief or mission before focusing on execution.
  • Example: Apple’s "why" is to challenge the status quo and promote innovation, which makes customers emotionally connected to their products, beyond just features.

2. People Buy Why You Do It, Not What You Do

  • Customers and followers are drawn to the values and purpose behind a product or action, not just the product itself.
  • Mindset: Communicate your beliefs and passion authentically to inspire loyalty and trust.
  • Example: Martin Luther King Jr.’s "I Have a Dream" speech resonated because he focused on the why—a shared vision of equality—rather than specific policies or strategies.

3. The Golden Circle: Why, How, What

  • Think of your actions in three concentric circles:
  • Why: The purpose, cause, or belief behind your work.
  • How: The process or methods you use to bring that purpose to life.
  • What: The product or service you offer.
  • Mindset: Reverse the traditional thinking. Instead of starting with what you want to achieve, begin with why it matters and then work outward.
  • Example: Companies like Southwest Airlines succeed because they prioritize their purpose (making air travel accessible to all) over operational details.

4. Inspire, Don’t Manipulate

  • Many organizations rely on manipulation—discounts, promotions, or fear—to drive results. True leaders inspire trust and action by appealing to deeper values.
  • Mindset: Build authentic, long-term relationships instead of seeking quick wins.
  • Example: Harley-Davidson doesn’t just sell motorcycles; it sells freedom and a sense of belonging to a tribe.

5. The Limbic Brain Connection

  • The why resonates with the limbic brain, which governs emotions and decision-making, while what appeals only to the rational brain.
  • Mindset: To truly connect with people, tap into emotions rather than just presenting data or logic.
  • Example: Advertisements that tell a heartfelt story rather than just listing product features often create stronger brand loyalty.

6. Clarity, Discipline, and Consistency

  • Clarity: Your "why" must be clear and compelling.
  • Discipline: Stick to your "how"—the values and principles that guide your actions.
  • Consistency: Ensure your "what" always aligns with your "why."
  • Mindset: Align every action and decision with your purpose to create trust and loyalty.
  • Example: Patagonia’s commitment to sustainability is reflected consistently in its products, business practices, and messaging.

7. Leadership Is About Belonging

  • Great leaders make people feel part of something bigger than themselves. They provide a shared purpose that aligns with their team’s values.
  • Mindset: Inspire others by focusing on shared goals and creating a culture of trust and support.
  • Example: The Wright Brothers succeeded because their team was driven by a passion for human flight, not money or fame.

8. The Law of Diffusion of Innovation

  • Sinek explains that new ideas are adopted in phases:
  • Innovators (2.5%)
  • Early adopters (13.5%)
  • Early majority (34%)
  • Late majority (34%)
  • Laggards (16%)
  • Mindset: Focus on inspiring innovators and early adopters first; they will influence the rest. Don’t try to please everyone at once.
  • Example: Tesla initially targeted tech enthusiasts and early adopters before expanding to the mass market.

9. Hire People Who Believe in Your Why

  • Employees who align with your purpose are more motivated and productive than those who join for financial incentives.
  • Mindset: Hire for cultural fit, not just skills. Skills can be taught, but values cannot.
  • Example: Companies like Zappos prioritize cultural alignment in hiring to maintain their brand ethos.

10. Focus on Long-Term Loyalty, Not Short-Term Success

  • Sustainable success comes from building trust and loyalty, not chasing immediate gains.
  • Mindset: Consider your "why" as a compass guiding all actions, even during challenges.
  • Example: Amazon’s long-term vision to "be Earth’s most customer-centric company" drives consistent innovation and customer loyalty.

11. Failure Is Part of the Process

  • Sinek emphasizes that staying true to your "why" can mean taking risks and accepting failure as a stepping stone.
  • Mindset: Stay resilient and use setbacks as opportunities to realign with your purpose.
  • For example, Steve Jobs faced failures but always returned to his "why" of creating products that empowered people through technology.

These principles provide a powerful framework for inspiring action, building loyalty, and achieving meaningful success in leadership, business, and personal development.

How to find your WHY:

To find your why, start by connecting with your deepest truth. Reflect on what brings you the most joy and fulfillment, not in terms of external rewards, but in the moments when you feel most alive and aligned. Ask yourself what legacy you want to leave behind and what value you can bring to the world. The answer often lies in the areas you resist the most or fear to confront—your greatest growth is hidden behind your biggest discomforts. Step into those challenges boldly, as they will help clarify your purpose.

Let go of anything that feels empty or out of alignment with your core. Pay attention to what drains your energy versus what inspires and energizes you. Regularly create space for reflection, whether through journaling, meditation, or time in solitude, to reconnect with what feels true and authentic. As your purpose evolves, stay open to shedding old layers and embracing new paths. Your why isn’t static—it’s a continuous unfolding of what matters most to you. Serve others with your unique gifts, and let your actions consistently align with your values. In doing so, you’ll live with clarity, integrity, and a profound sense of fulfillment.
